Mrs. Flunker's Kindergarten Class

About the Teacher

I'm so very excited to be the Kindergarten teacher at Bishop Baraga this year!

My life is one big story of God's grace!  I grew up in Ohio, and went to college at Cedarville University, where I met my husband.  Both he and I had a passion for spreading the gospel to the nations, and we both knew that God had called us to be missionaries.  We got married and spent four years in Dallas, Texas while he went to seminary.  During that time I got the opportunity to teach Kindergarten at a Christian school there.  I LOVED it!  Not only did I get to teach the kids normal school subjects, but I also got to integrate the Bible into every subject that I taught!  I got to share Jesus with them every day.  I got to tough situations where they would struggle, and teach them about the forgiveness, grace, and mercy of our Savior!  We got to celebrate their successes in class with praise and glory to God for helping them!  God has given me a passion for educating young kids, especially Kindergarten kids!

After Dallas, we moved to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, where we were missionaries for the next 8 years.  I taught 5th and 6th grade there, along with the many other ministries on the island.

Last year the Lord called us back to Michigan.  My husband grew up in Florence, and his dad was ill.  We moved back to help take care of him and be with family.  God has taught me a lot in the last year, and He has more than ever shown His grace and mercy to be abundant every day!  This position at Bishop Baraga is a huge answer to our prayers!  It is literally the perfect job for me!  I am so excited to get to know my students and be part of the life God has given them!  I can't wait to see what He does in their lives this year!
